About Me
Hello!
My name is Alexandra (Alexa) Aringer and I am currently employed as research staff in the Adversity and Adaptation Lab under Dr. Tuppett M. Yates at UC Riverside. In 2020, I graduated with honors from UC Riverside with a BS in Psychology. Previously, I was a research assistant at the OBSERVE Lab under Dr. Megan Robbins. Most recently, I worked as the lab manager at the Riverside Social and Spatial Cognition Lab at the University of California, Riverside.
My overarching goal is to contribute to greater understanding the role of traumatic stress on various at-risk populations, and to inform the creation of interventions, practices, and policies to promote resiliency. I am particularly passionate about measuring traumatic stress utilizing physiological markers, addressing effects of disassociative symptoms, and developing, disseminating, and implementing culturally-sensitive and trauma-informed treatment.
In my free time, I love:
– candlemaking
– cross-stitching
– potting plants into pots with funky faces
– spending time with my Husband and our 2 cats (Marbles, Eivor) and one dog (Mocha)
